Ian Parker Dodd was published in Agenda whilst a medical student at Oxford. He gave up both medicine and poetry to have a long and enjoyable career as a lecturer in the various reincarnations that became the University of Gloucester. He re-engaged with poetry after the death of his wife, Gill. He was also given the opportunity to help teach the group of unaccompanied young children at GARAS. This experience has moved him deeply. Ian is a Kendo 5th Dan, having set up a successful University dojo where he still practices in his eighties.
